Why Massages are a Part of My Routine

It seems like all it takes is one little thing for your entire day to spiral out of control. One glitch in the schedule can change everything. For example, the other day we slept in for the first time this school year. This meant that instead of waking up peacefully and sitting down to enjoy their breakfast, the children were awakened as if they were at boot camp. They were rushed through getting ready and eating their breakfast, in order to make it to school as quickly as possible.
Because I was already behind schedule, I was in danger of being late to the gym. I hurried and threw my gym bag together, grabbing a quick snack instead of my usual protein drink (I paid for this big time, at the gym).
And just like this, went the entire rest of my day. By the end of the day I was exhausted and achy.
When you’re busy and constantly going, it’s important to take good care of your body. Particularly if you love working out, like I do. One of the first things you learn when you start working out is that allowing your muscles to rejuvenate and heal is just as important as the workout. I make it a priority to get a massage every month, just for this reason. I’ve found it helps to keep my body tuned up, and keeps the knots out.
