The Joovy Moon Room is the first that I have seen with such a uniquely shaped design. First impression will make you think the Joovy Moon Room is something from outer space, however; there is a purpose to the shape.
The basic floor plan is what you would expect from a typical playard, however the square shape design gives your child a little more floor space – 10 sq feet to be exact.
The main feature of the Joovy Moon Room is the design of the sides. In a typical playard you are given 4 sides, the Joovy Moon Room gives you 8 sides! Your floor space is conserved and at the same time your child has so much room to see the world around them.
What I Like
Like all Joovy products that I have tried, the construction is amazing. The Joovy Moon Room is made of a super strong mesh material and 600D nylon fabric. You can definitely feel a difference compared to other playards that we have tried.
I was impressed with the foldable floor board that goes into the bottom of the Joovy Moon Room. It doesn’t feel like a hard piece of cardboard, there is actually a gel like feel to the top layer giving your child the ultimate comfort level when laying down.
There is a 100% white cotton sheet that is included with your purchase. Not a cheap piece of fabric either, the sheet feels SO soft!
The Joovy Moon Room’s design definitely had a lot of thought put into it. We use our playards for sleep more often than play, so space and comfort are an important factor for us. Nobody enjoys a crying baby in the middle of the night because they are uncomfortable.
What to consider
The weight of the Joovy Moon Room is something to consider. You can definitely travel to another location with the Joovy Moon Room, however; at 27 Lbs it can become a bit cumbersome if you are moving around a lot. I love to use the Joovy Moon Room in our home when we have out of town family visiting, this becomes a super comfortable and safe place to sleep and when they leave I can easily pack it up.
Don’t let the weight scare you though! The Joovy Moon Room weighs as much as it does because of the extra framing that is required to keep your baby safe. If your baby has a need for a safe place to sleep at Grandma’s house, or even a place in your home for baby to play, consider the Joovy Moon Room.

I like that it comes with a NICE sheet and that it has a “gel like” feeling as apposed to the hard cardboard of other playpens. The Purpleness is what I would choose!

What an awesome idea, I like the idea of additional playroom for my baby without taking up the whole floor, plus I think it will keep my toddler from helping too much. I love the purple, but think the charcoal is probably a better gender neutral color.
