Quick & Easy Homemade Pizza Dough
My first stop in learning to save money at the grocery store was to find recipes that were not only quick and easy, they required very few & cheap ingredients.
Heather at Ourkidsmom.com shared her recipe with me for a Quick & Easy Homemade Pizza Dough.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup oil
Instructions:
Place all of the ingredients into a bowl or your Kitchen Aid mixer (perfect chance to use your dough hook!) and mix well until combined. When thoroughly mixed take the dough, place it on the counter and kneed it a few times to shape the dough into a ball. Roll the dough out onto the counter and place onto a greased cookie sheet (Pam works great!)
Top with sauce, all of your favorite pizza toppings (Here’s a great coupon for Hormel Pepperoni, more savings!) and cook in the oven at 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes, this cheese pizza I made this evening took roughly 22 minutes.
Tip: I already had pizza sauce on hand when I cooked this recipe, however Heather provided a tip of using 1 can of tomato sauce with a sprinkle of Italian seasoning and Garlic salt.
My Thoughts On This Recipe:
If you have read my blog before, I am not a cook. Needless to say I was nervous to make a homemade pizza dough. The recipe was very easy to follow, used ingredients I already had on hand and took no time at all to prepare! My husband and I both loved the pizza and though the pizza turned out a little orangey from the cheddar cheese, it tasted wonderful.
The thoughts from my two little monkeys:
Andrew is 4 and has major texture sensitivity issues. He LOVES pizza but he is very picky about where it is from. I asked begged him to try a piece, Andrew was not digging this new pizza. I think maybe I overdid it on the sauce? Andrew almost vomited when he placed the first piece in his mouth LOL poor kid. I don’t expect much from him, Andrew is my chicken, hot dog and mac n cheese kid.
Andrea is 16 months and thankfully is still at an age of accepting new foods. She doesn’t have the sensitivity issues that my son has and she DEVOURED her dinner. No issues from her and she gladly accepted seconds!
Mom tested… kid approved! (Well one of them at least )
Thanks Heather!! Be sure to check out Ourkidsmom for great vegetarian recipes
I consider myself somewhat of a pizza geek. I make homemade pizza at least once a week and always try new toppings. I love it now that the garden is producing some veggies!
I have never made pizza dough with milk. I like that. It must make the dough richer and chewier? I will try it.
like this simple recipe. Will have to give this one a try. SUre it will be a hit!

LOOKS REAL EASY THANKS FOR TIP
We eat frozen pizzas far too often. I’ll have to try this version.
When I was growing up, my family always made “mini pizzas” from english muffin halves. I love how much cheaper this is than even that!
I love the idea of homemade pizza! This looks pretty good! I like plain pizza!
thank you for the recipe. I never knew how to make this by scratch .I have always bought pre made
Sub the baking powder for 1 tsp yeast and it really does taste restaurant quality. I make the dough, put it in fridge or freezer for when I am ready to use it. Tastes better the next day and I bake it at 425.
so simple, thanks
Thanks for this recipe! I love that I can throw it all into my kitchenaid!
Love that this is so easy and doesn’t take yeast
I always make my own pizza dough. It’s not hard with a KitchenAid mixer – eliminates all the trouble and work.
Thanks for the great receipe. Who doesn’t love pizza? I will have to try this out!

We love to make our own homemade pizza and sauce. We typically do our sauce from tomatoes from our garden and then freeze the extra (I am to lazy to can :) ). We also love grilling the homemade pizza crust so easy!!
Michelle, I was the same way!! Never even tempted the thought of making it. This recipe has changed our minds! So easy to make with very simply ingredients and when used with the right toppings and cheese, can be even better than the real thing. Will have to post about a recent one we just made with Pizza cheese from Kraft, Freshly sliced mushrooms and Black Olives. It looks unreal!!
I never liked the idea of homemade pizza because “it didn’t taste the same” until I made it and it was delish.
I love that this doesn’t need yeast.
Wow looks good and sounds super easy!
This looks really yummy and easy – I might try it with whole wheat dough. Do you think that would affect the texture?
