Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk Saves Lives!
We have all been impacted by breast cancer,in one form or another. Last month I told you all about a very special person in my life who was battling Breast Cancer. Her name is Cari, and she is my children’s speech therapist.
Luckily, I’m so very happy to tell you all that Cari has fought her battle with Breast Cancer and WON! Though she has a major surgery coming up to make sure that the cancer doesn’t pop up in other areas, every single piece of cancer is out of her body.
So I’ve been looking for a way to support Breast Cancer research and wanted to tell you all about the Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk that was coming up.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a walk that brings together breast cancer survivors, raises awareness to help reduce our risk of getting breast cancer and it helps raise money to help fight this disease so hopefully our little girls will never have to experience this. Most walks do not have a registration fee and encourages the raising of donations.
There are many ways to take part in the Making Strides Walks across America, from making a donation to someone who is already walking, to volunteering, or even taking the walk yourself.
By taking this step to walk, you could be saving the life of a friend, saving your own life, or even the life of your daughter.

Thank you so much for sharing information about Making Strides against Breast Cancer. I, too, have been impacted by breast cancer. My great aunt is a breast cancer survivor and I know many women who have, or are, battling breast cancer. I used to support the Susan Komen Foundation, until I learned that they donate a good deal of funds ($400,000 in 2011) to Planned Parenthood. I want money I donate for Breast Cancer Research going to Breast Cancer Research. I’ll definitely be looking for a walk near me.
<3 you Cari! :)
Thank you for being such an awesome friend and support to me during this difficult time! What a thoughtful post…
I’m glad to hear your friend is now cancer free. I checked the site, but there isn’t a walk near my city – will find another way to support this cause. The pink fire truck is great!
Congratulations Cari! I’ve never been involved in a cancer walk before but I think now is a great time to start.
Anyone in the Columbus, Ohio area is welcome to join my team for our Strides event on October 28! http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/MakingStridesAgainstBreastCancer/MSABCFY13EC?team_id=1219312&pg=team&fr_id=47343
I ran in the local Susan Komen 5 K last year but because of a scheduling conflict could not this time around. It makes you feel like you helped make a difference for somebody. Nice fire truck!
