A lot of families agree that gathering around the dinner table to enjoy a meal together is their favorite way to reconnect their family and learn about their day. While I try to make this a priority with my own family, dinner time is often a fail.
With two children, one with food allergies and the other with a speech delay, dinner time conversation is often filled with bribery to get my kids to eat their meal. We don’t get a lot of conversation in about the day.
Welch’s juice has launched a new movement “Share what’s good”, they believe that kitchen table moments are what helps families make special moments with family, friends and loved ones. Though with my family, we have to reach outside of the box to help make those family memories and reconnect in other ways.

This photo was from a recent trip down to Silver Dollar City – Branson, Missouri. Road trips are a big passion of ours and living in the Midwest makes it so easy to do these things together. It’s moments like these, when my children enjoy each other’s company and I see the love and smiles on their face, that gives me that “Share what’s good” memory.
This picture was taken during a rest break at our visit to Silver Dollar City. The kids were enjoying each other’s company and we all sat around talking about our day. It was a great time, we created memories and conversations that my husband and I will never forget. I love this picture because it helps me to remember the good times in our family, they are happy, not fighting over a toy and it’s more than just a moment at home. My kids really connect on a different level when we take our mini road trips.
While gathering around the kitchen table is an easy way to connect with family, it’s not easy for everyone. It’s about finding a common ground with your family and using those moments to bring your family together to create long lasting memories.
