Hi, I’m Betsy Dawson. I’m a single mother of a teenage son and founder of SociallyKnow.

I am alerted if he sends or receives messages that contain key words from our extensive lexicon of graphic, offensive, bullying, harassing or drug/alcohol-related language. I can also see every photo posted of him online, so I can help him understand how some images can harm his reputation.
I not only can see any potentially worrisome issues related to my son’s interactions with his friends but, just as important, I know if a “friend of a friend” is a cause for alarm.

This is so great. It is nice to know that this tool is available to help you protect your children while they are online. Thank you for sharing!
In these days and times, with the awareness of bullying, I think it’s important to be aware of what our kids are watching AND doing. Unfortunately, FB is very susceptible to bullying tactics and I appreciate that someone else can recognize that.
I think this is great. Of course I only have a 3 year old, but I do think its necessary to protect them in this way. The internet can be so mean to people because people can say things about you and hide behind their computer screen and not take responsibility for their actions. Plus I’d like to know if any drug related things were going on with my child. I think all in all a great program to have for your online kids.
Sounds like a great tool for parents. My son is only 3 so no facebook or other social media at this time, but this will be helpful in the future.
I love all of the alerts! Not only do you have to worry about what others are saying your child, you have to worry about the fact that maybe your child is the bully!
