Squeakers Promote Healthy Toddler Walking | Review

My four year old is a tippy toe walker, we have been through the pediatrician and physical therapy to correct it and to this day he still walks on his tippy toes.

It’s cute to watch your children prance around on their tippy toes like little ballerinas, but studies show this can have a detrimental effect to your children’s joints and back later in life.

As Andrea started to walk we have taken notice of her walking on her tippy toes a time or two. My wallet couldn’t take another tippy toe walker and we really didn’t want to try and “untrain” her like we are currently doing with Andrew.

Andrea has been wearing her Squeaker shoes for a few weeks now and we both love them. There are times when the squeakers are not appropriate, such as at church, quiet places, shopping etc. It’s great to know that there is a white plug that can be removed from the side of the shoe and this will stop the squeaking ability, when you are ready to squeak again just pop it back in!

My Squeakers collection has grown quite a bit since my first purchase and I will tell you why.

When I received my first pair of Squeakers Andrea went straight for the bows and pulled, instantly the bow fell apart. I was saddened and really felt like that was a quick ending to her wearing these sandals.

The customer service department was so empathetic and understanding, when we told them about what had happened they asked for my address and quickly sent out new bows for her shoes. No questions asked!

I’m happy to say that we have not experienced any other mishaps with our new bows. I have confidence in Squeakers and know that we can purchase them with no worries about quality.

I really wish that I had tried Squeakers with my son when he was younger. Squeakers range in size from 3 to 10 and he is currently in a size 10, we might go with a pair for him and see how they work with an experienced tippy toe walker.

  • I absolutely love squeakers! My oldest daughter has a pair that she grew out of, and my youngest daughter (20 months) is too small to fit into them. Everytime she hears the squeak she says “hear the birds”. It’s too cute. Would love for her to have a new pair of her own. :)
    And FYI, the little squeaks actually are removable, so the adorable shoes can also be used for quiet places, or if you just get too annoyed by all the little squeaks :)

  • We LOVE our squeakers! They are great to give DS a little freedom while we are out- without worrying about him wandering off. I never have even used his ‘monkey tail’. Also DS has a very wide foot. These are one of the few shoes that fit his super fat feet!
