My children love to imitate, the way that mommy talks on the phone, cooking in the kitchen, cleaning dishes, and maybe a few other things that I’m hoping they will soon forget.
We received the Step2 Family Fun Kitchen for review, one of the hot fall toy items from Step2. I’m thinking that this might be the perfect toy to help foster my children’s pretend play skills.
The Step2 Family Fun Kitchen is a Sam’s Club exclusive, perfect for small spaces and packed with things for your children to do.
My children have had their experiences with play kitchens and each kitchen they have treated differently. The Step2 Family Fun Kitchen seems to be the all-in-one toy that gives them loads of accessories, appliances with working sounds and even some added in bonuses.
With past kitchens that we have owned, they would always offer features to the minimum. So I was surprised to see full “stainless steel” appliances, a fridge with a built in realistic water dispenser, an oven that has sound making buttons, a coffee maker, a stove with clicking knobs and even a light up burner.
While the kids can easily make their own sound effects, a play kitchen just seems to have more “value” when realistic sounds are apart of the appliances.
Down under the kitchen, there is a little cubby hole with a nametag for “Fido”. Included with this kitchen are two toy bones, though there is a puppy pictured on the box, puppy is not included. My kids were really hoping that there was an included puppy, however they had no problem giving one of their old toys a new bed to lay in.
I personally love the two plastic “woven” baskets. The kids love to fill them up with pretend food while playing and when it’s time to pick up, all the dishes can fit inside for an easy clean up experience.
The entire Step2 Family Fun Kitchen is nicely put together. Lots of attention to detail and neutral colors, making this kitchen perfect for a boy or girl.
