Store, Stream, & Access Files From Anywhere with the my-Ditto

Most people either own or have owned an external hard drive at one time or another. To use them, it involves the process of copying all of your files to the hard drive by either a wired or Wi-Fi connection. Then when you need access to those files you had to connect the hard drive to your computer and copy what you needed back to your computer.

But what about the times when you are away from home, across the state, country or even the world? Unless you have the external hard drive there with you, then you are just out of luck. Right?

The my-Ditto has developed a new process to make our lives easier by not only allowing you to store, organize and share your precious family photos, videos, music, and documents. After storing all of your files, the my-Ditto will allow you to access those files remotely from any location using any computer, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android Smartphone, Android Tablet or Windows Smartphone.

When I started reading about how the my-Ditto works I was impressed to learn that you can access the hard drive anywhere, even from your smartphone, using their special USB key or mobile application. Yes, there’s an app for that!

easy setup

I was amazed at how easy it was to set up my-Ditto. Plug in a couple of wires, turn it on, and it works. You don’t have to be some computer whiz to figure out Wi-Fi or encryption because you just use the USB keys that are already programmed to your my-Ditto hard drive.

file transfer software

When I opened the my-Ditto program it quickly prompted me to set a username and password and then instantly I was taken to a window that showed everything on my desktop. I like that I could see everything on my computer and what I had added to the My Ditto in a side-by-side layout.

To add files onto the my-Ditton, simply drag and drop them from one side of the window onto the other side. Every file that I selected moved over to the my-Ditto automatically. You can even check on the status with a link at the top of the screen that says ‘Transferring’. I have quite a bit on my computer right now, but it will be so nice to free up space and not worry about having to delete pictures or files because I want to upload new ones!

photos being transferred

If you would prefer to not use the USB key every time you want to access the my-Ditto, there is a my-Ditto program that you can download directly to your computer. After using the my-Ditto program, I have taken notice that the files seem to transfer a little quicker than they did while using the USB key.

I am excited to upload all of our iTunes music to the my-Ditto and give my husband the other USB key so he can listen to music, stream, or access our files where he needs to as well!
